Ladies 18+. Looking for a fun way to spend your Tuesday evening? Grab a friend and join the Des Moines County Conservation Ladies Adventure Group for On Target on Tuesday, September 22, from 5:30–7:00 PM at Starr's Cave Nature Center.
Challenge yourself as you learn and practice a variety of outdoor skills, including archery, hatchet throwing, tomahawks, and throwing knives. Whether you're a complete beginner or have tried these activities before, Shania, our naturalist, will provide instruction and all the equipment you need for a safe and enjoyable experience.
This program is open to women ages 18 and older. Registration is $5 per person, and space is limited to just 20 participants, so be sure to reserve your spot here. Gather your friends and join us for an evening of adventure, laughter, and trying something new!

Be part of the first-ever Ladies Adventure Group Weekend Wellness Retreat! Join us October 2–4 at the Big Hollow Ranger Cabin for a weekend of adventure, relaxation, and connection.
Enjoy Forest Therapy, a calming Sound Bath, and Range Day, where you'll have the opportunity to safely shoot .22 rifles with instruction. Throughout the weekend, you'll also enjoy a variety of surprise activities designed to help you unwind, have fun, and connect with other women who love the outdoors.
The retreat includes lodging for two nights and all meals. Participants will share bedrooms, and some rooms include shared beds. If you're registering with a friend and would like to share a bed, please note their name during registration.

Experience the beauty of fall at Starr’s Cave during this guided Fall Color Hike!
Join Naturalist Shania as we explore the trails and take in the beautiful colors of the season. Along the way, learn more about the trees, fall foliage, and the natural world around us.
This free hike is perfect for nature lovers of all ages! We will hike up to three miles, so please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.
Participants are encouraged to bring water, bug spray, sunglasses, and a camera to capture the beautiful fall scenery.
Registration is not required but is appreciated. You can RSVP through RecDesk.
In the event of inclement weather, the hike will be canceled.
