Effective Monday, June 8, 2020, Des Moines County Buildings will be open to the public. Access to the courthouse will be limited to the basement entrance located on the south side of the building.
Limited space will be available in the treasurer’s office due to the social distancing requirements currently in place, so for faster or more convenient service while COVID-19 remains active, we strongly encourage the public to continue doing business online, by mail or by one of our two drop boxes - one is located in the entry way on the south side of the courthouse and available during work hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The other drop box is located outside of the courthouse on the south side in between the building and parking lot (available at any hour).

No motor vehicle title transfers done after 4:15pm
All motor vehicle transfers will require a bill of sale as of January 1, 2020

Closed in 2021 for observance of holidays:
January 1, February 15, May 31, July 5, September 6, November 11,
November 25, 26 and December 23, and 24. We will also be closed on December 31 for the New Year holiday.
