System Administrator
Responsible for managing and maintaining the Des Moines County Network and backups of Des Moines County data under the
direct supervision of the IT Director
Responsible for assisting with the establishment and implementation of Security policies and standards for Des Moines County
Technology Users/Equipment/Software and Networks to ensure the integrity of Des Moines County Technology.
Assist the IT Director in establishing standards and guidelines in regards to technology that is to be connected, directly or
indirectly, to the Des Moines County Network and maintained by the Information Technology Department
Assist the IT Director in working with other County Department Heads to determine technology needs within their departments
and to establish cost feasibility on future projects to ensure Des Moines County is spending tax dollars on technology in the most
efficient manner possible
Work directly with Technology Vendors to ensure Des Moines County Systems are secure and to meet / exceed the necessary
requirements to operate at their best potential
Report directly to the IT Director any and all known issues relating to Des Moines County Technology that affect County
personnel, systems security, physical system status and overall well-being of Des Moines County Technology
Consult with Des Moines County end users in the proper operation of operating systems, software applications, and proper
operation of network services
Continued education training to ensure the continuation of technology advancement of Des Moines County Technology
Installation of technology applications for all County departments as necessary and as assigned by the IT Director
Utilization of vendor support services, outside engineers, and consultants to identify problems / solutions and develop various
plans for approval by the IT Director for performance, reliability and security of the network systems
Ability to provide after hours maintenance and support of network systems and technology as assigned by the IT Director
Responsible for all other technology related duties as assigned by the IT Director of Des Moines County
